Ambassadors for Health
Hi Everyone! I hope your flowers are blooming and the sun visits more often these days! Spring has sprung! We find the Eggs working on their next service project - a health program for their community! Let's see what they're up to . . .
Let the Games Begin!
The Eggs wrapped up a championship season of baseball. The Mayor of Albumen was at the game to hand them the trophy. He told them how impressed he was with the game, and also with the way they have been working as Ambassadors for Albumen. He had been keeping track of their program.
The Mayor then asked the Eggs if they would take charge of the Albumen Games. "Like the Olympic Games?" asked Greggory. "Exactly!" replied the Mayor. The Eggs were anxious to get started thinking up ideas on how to organize the games for the community.
Oh No, Ms. Poach!
Monday morning, the Eggs waited patiently for Ms. Poach to enter the classroom and explain how they would put together the Albumen Games. They thought it was odd she wasn't there yet, as she is always there ready to greet them. Finally, after about 15 minutes, Coach Flo entered the classroom. He informed the Eggs that Ms. Poach had a bike accident over the weekend and was in the Albumen Hospital awaiting a new hip. She had a pretty bad fall. The Eggs were shocked and concerned, but Coach Flo assured them Ms. Poach would be ok.
Healthy Habits
It was decided for the health program, that the Eggs would organize the Albumen Games, encourage healthy eating, and assist rehab patients in the hospital. A team from the Albumen Hospital would be on hand to mentor them.
Seggourney got an idea to help Ms. Poach with her hip rehab. The Eggs were more than eager to do that!
Family Activity

Eating right and exercising are two things we have heard about all of our life, and something we often think about, but may not always do. The best way to teach children about healthy eating and exercise is to model the behaviors for them. Many of us have greater access to nutritious food, like fresh fruits and vegetables, but don’t always take advantage of the opportunity to eat healthy. Both healthy eating and exercise are contagious. The more we practice, the better we get and the odds are we will encourage others to do the same. When we eat healthy and exercise we feel better. We just need to keep the momentum going!
Visit your local farmer's market and take note of all of the healthy fruits and vegetables they have available. Bring some home!
Look up the fruits and vegetable you just purchased, and with your kids, determine the nutritional value of each one!
See you next time as the Eggs begin their planning for the Albumen Games!
Wishing you all GOOD things,
Sandy
