August - Manners #3

We have come to the end of Book 1! It’s hard to believe it has been one year already!

Let’s wrap up our Manners discussion.

Manners Mini Boot Camp

Consider a manners mini boot camp at home. Set a time period for the camp; one week would be a good start. Explain to everyone in the family that during the manners mini boot camp everybody is expected to use the word “please” any time they ask for or need something and the words “thank you” every time they are given something or something is done for them.

Manners Competition

Get a poster board and list the names of your family members on the left side. Every time someone uses “please” or “thank you” put an “x” next to their name. The person with the most “x’s” at the end of the week is the winner.  Determine a prize like dinner out at a restaurant of the winner’s choosing (a great opportunity to further practice manners). Remind your kids that using good manners is a good habit for everyone.

I hope you have enjoyed this first book in The Good Eggs trilogy. We have completed one year of Virtues – next month we will begin Book 2: The Good Eggs Travel the World! I’m very excited to share with you the diversity that is learned through the Eggs’ travels!

Adventure awaits! See you in September!

Wishing you all GOOD things,

Sandy
