Ambassadors for Nature
Hi Everyone! I hope you are enjoying our beautiful summer and that you have a lot of time to get outdoors and enjoy nature! That is what the Eggs will be focusing on for their last service project. They get involved with a nature center and learn about the environment!
Peggy's Back!
Reggie was excited as his cousin Peggy came for a 6-week visit! She would be able to help with this final service project. He filled her in on what was happening with the Ambassador Program since she returned home last year. She was eager to hear more from the others and couldn't wait to see them.
The Eggs met Ms. Poach and Coach Flo at school to discuss the project. Peggy hugged everyone and sat down to hear more. Ms. Poach explained that the Eggs would be helping Camp Sunnyside Up with their Nature Center. The Eggs were overjoyed at the mention of the location, because that is where their families camp each year. They were familiar with the camp.
Birds and Reptiles and Butterflies - Oh My!
Ms. Poach continued her explanation about the nature center. She told them they would be learning about wildlife such as falcons, eagles, turtles, snakes, and iguanas to name a few. They would also be keeping the walking trails and ponds clean, and learn how to check trees for disease. She handed out some brochures and additional material for the Eggs to bring home to their parents. They would all be leaving this weekend for the camp.
Megg asked if she could bring Snowball. Ms. Poach said yes and then Coach Flo said she would bring Daisy. Of course, Benedict chimed in and said he was bringing Scrambler! They looked over the information from Ms. Poach and talked more about what they would be doing at the nature center for about another hour.

Family Activity
Involved in our busy lives, we can often take nature for granted. Many of us spend so much time in front of screens of all types and taking care of day-to-day activities and commitments that we don’t get out as much as we’d like to. We sometimes take the natural beauty of the world for granted and don’t “take time to smell the roses” as the old saying goes.
Spend a morning or afternoon with your children outside. Go for a walk in your neighborhood or a park and point out the birds, wildlife, trees and plants you see. Take pictures of them and try to look up what specific type, variety or species they are.
Next time, the Eggs and their families will arrive at Camp Sunnyside Up Nature Center!
Enjoy the sunshine!
Wishing you all GOOD things,
Sandy
